You made the leap to my new blog...Zen Tides! The other blogs were based on where we were living at the time, and I hope to be able to wander a bit more in the future. I will chronicle our adventures HERE!
If you haven't read my other blogs, feel free to do so. I'm not sure how you would find them at the moment...so if you really want to read them let me know.
So, why the new blog?
We've ....uh, moved around a bit (did I tell you my kid went to 7 different elementary schools?) in the last 20 years. As many 'normal' people age, they tend to settle in where they're comfortable. If you know me, you know that 'comfortable' doesn't really fit my personality (just my clothing style). Since Nick and I met and started planning a future together, we were more sure about someday owning a boat than having children (we already had Maddie....). I guess 20 years later we know how that turned out...
Anyway, about a year and a half ago we finally bought a sailboat (after 15 years of marriage)...some dreams take time). She's a 45' Sloop, and one of a kind. We re-christened her "Stillwater" after a Childrens' book character who is a very wise Buddhist Panda.

I highly recommend the books. They aren't just for children. (Click the picture to see in Amazon)
And now you understand the title of my new blog.
Sailboats are not all "Zen". Actually the unofficial definition of Cruising on a sailboat is, "fixing things in exotic places". That's why I included "Tide" in the title. Tide goes in, Tide goes out. Sometimes there's no place we'd rather be than on our sailboat. Some days she is for sale for a very cheap price. But how long can you stay mad at a Buddhist Panda?

Love this! We can stalk you now on your journeys. :) :) :) Must get that book.
